    Information about the upcoming season

    Hello Stingray Swimmers!

We are excited to announce that we have a new coach this season!  Her name is Laura Mower and she comes to us with years of swimming experience, both competitively and instructionally. Coaches Kylee and Vaas are returning as assistant coaches. We are also excited about that!

I am also writing to let you know that we will be changing practices this season. Coach Laura will be incorporating stretching and dry land activities into every practice.  Because of these additions our practice times, and the length, will change.

    • 5-6 year olds will still practice from 5:30-6:00pm
    • 7-10 year olds will practice from 6:00-7:00pm
    • 11 and up will practice from 7:00-8:00pm
    • An hour of practice time does not mean an hour in the pool. As mentioned above, the hour will include stretching and dry land.

Just as in previous seasons, we may possibly add a few minutes to the practice time of the 5-6 year olds as we get to know them and determine if that would be helpful for them.  If that happens we would push back the start times of the other age groups.

We realize that this is a big shift from past seasons but we are sure that these changes will allow our swimmers to improve their confidence, endurance, and to drop times in meets. And who doesn't like earning more ribbons? :) But don't worry, our swimmers will still have a lot of fun!

If you have children in multiple age groups let me know and we can make sure they are able to practice at the same time.

We have a parent meeting scheduled for May 8th, at 7:00pm at the pavilion outside the pool.  Plan to attend and meet coach Laura and ask any questions you may have about the season.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting our new families on May 8th!

P.S. Don't forget to register!  We have a lot of new families this year so make sure to secure your swimmer's spot!
