Tomorrow's meet!
Hello Stingray families! It's almost meet time! Get those kiddos a Gatorade today and read up for some helpful information regarding our first meet.
**Weather will be considered, please watch the app for notifications.
- The meet warm ups start at 5pm with the visitor side getting the first 30 minute warm up.
- We will begin warm ups at 5:30 and the meet starts promptly at 6pm.
- The pool will be closing at 4pm for Woodridge residents, so we can begin to set up family spaces then.
- Please arrive as early as you can so we can prepare kids with their events.
- We will be seated on the left side of the pool deck (closest to Woodridge Bluff) and the visitors will be on the other side (towards the baby pool). Please keep in mind we have to find our swimmers so if you're NOT in the Woodridge area, that makes things a lot harder!
- As I mentioned at the new parent meeting, and for our returning families who remember, the meet moves VERY QUICKLY and if your swimmer is not present in queue for their event at the start, they are DQ'd from the event. We try to line up 2-3 events ahead of what is on deck, so watch the event sign (near the pool house) and listen to our emcee (Kate!).
Bring chairs as we will have a lot of people at the pool!
We will have concessions (cash or card) but feel free to bring snacks and drinks for your family
We will also have Kona Ice out again (cash or card), so bring those reusable cups for $3 refills!
Below are some images of previous year's heat sheets. The first example is a relay (they swim in a group of four). The second image is an individual event with two heats.
The last image is how we "write up" our kids. We usually use their arm or upper leg to write events out. Please don't sunscreen that area too much as it makes the sharpie bleed and we'll lose track of their events.
Please try to write on your swimmers early so the sharpie will dry. I will have sharpies at the pool and heat sheets ready for reference help.
Also, please write your swimmer's name on their back (big letters!) to help the parents who are "wrangling" our kiddos this year! Everyone looks very similar with goggles and a swim cap on!
